Coming Down The Mountain

Coming Down The Mountain
(November 2005)

I should have told you I was born to die
Even stars come down from the eternal sky
But I couldn’t stand to watch you cry

I know I’ve left you all alone
With your eyes dead and your heart like stone
I’m waiting empty of disguises and want only to atone

I know I said that I loved you
And I swear the saying was always true
But between yesterday and tomorrow
I found heartache isn’t a thing time lets us borrow.
And it hurts too much; I tried to tell you,
I tried to warn you, I wanted to explain
I waited for you to understand but I waited alone in vain
You wanted anything, needed everything
Your tears outnumber the grains of sand
And I remember, I remember, I remember

My soul is embers, I left it to die
When I spoke my love to the uncaring sky
Do you have tears left to cry?

No longer a god, trapped by love, alone
I wait only for tears to melt hearts of stone
And a voice crying on the wind for me to atone

I’m waiting in my loss for you
To come. As always I am only true
For the length of today, for tomorrow
I make no promise your heart can’t borrow
And think is love. I tried to love you,
I’ve tried to hate you, I need but to explain
Why I cannot understand why you waited alone in vain
I hold nothing, and everything
Is drifting through my fingers like sand
And I remember, I remember, I remember

That to love hurts more than to die
Your eyes were the colours of the sky
And I still have yet to learn to cry

    this whole peice was very good...i love your method of poetry. as you say descriptive, yes, very much so. and to that I reply;

    You Frustrate me;
    You intrique me more.
    What started as one simple
    Day has evolved,
    Changed,
    Been charged;
    Tore open with hands and teeth.
