Vampires

All vampires share
one trait: not blood,
or sex, or beautiful bodies --
just souls, the souls
of accountants bleeding
people dry, seeing prey
as other see numbers,
seeing hunger
where others see love.
And never, ever, balancing
their own checkbooks.
