Catkus

i.
Nothing frightens me;
It's not that
I am brave,
But only that
Nothing frightens me.

ii.
Is it true, then, that you
see deeply?
Sometimes
I am not sure I see at all.

iii.
A cat is not a creature
To he trusted, trifled with,
Or played with. A cat is
Only, just, this: A cat.
If you do you understand,
You are only fit for dogs.

iv.
When I play games
I am merely testing you.
And you'll never know
When you've failed.

v.
There is a special place
for those who remove
the claws of a cat.
It is very dark, and cold,
and you are very small
as you hunt cheese only
to find we still have teeth.
