Five Minute Valentine's Day Poem

          And it is
the moment between breaths when
our eyes meet, shy, fluttering,
and strangers find some common bond
beyond the play of flesh and words.

          And you are
something I dare not define if
I hope to evade the chasm of understanding
and just accept you as you are,
a mystery with a smile.

          And we are
not quite so strange after all even
if we are not sure where each begins
and ends; in the binding
and the loosing, the taming
and being tamed: this is love.
