And Day #8

Sooo.... Last night night 50K and a change and the end of chapter 13.

Then there was today. I woke up with the start of an entirely different story in my head, complete with the first line and characters and some scenes. And I have not been able to get it OUT of my head despite attempts to work on nano.

Now back to trying to focus on the nano and get at least one chapter finished during the day ...

(Sadly, I also have 6+ pages filled out in a small notebook toward the story I was working on before nano as well.)

  1. ...well, if you're stuck on the NaNo story, why not work on this new one?

It's not the first time you've written/worked on 2 different stories during NaNo...

    1. BTW, congrats on hitting 50+K

      You are my NaNo-writing-hero :D

    2. *laughs* The fun part is that the draft isn't THAT bad. My biggest concern is that the dialogue for one character comes out too modern earth (with 'yup' and the like) at present. I also have major plot holes with one character's backstory I need to firm up eventually but they're relatively easy fixes.

And yeah, I suspect the rest of this evening will be notes on the other story.

    4. Hopefully you aren't getting sick...

I think I'm coming down with a cold myself :) Started out the day optimistic about writing... fell asleep about 30 minutes later.

    5. Feeling a little better but still pretty crappy. Managed to force myself to get some words done today at least...

    6. Glad you're feeling a bit better :)

I just got to my parents' house after an almost 5 hour straight drive in the absolute worst rain ever. Seriously, even driving in a snowstorm on the Coquihalla is a piece of cake compared to this drive...

So glad to be off the road... now, to decompress a little before going to sleep :)

...might even get in a few new words ;)

    7. Ouch: yeah, drives that that are never pleasant at all. And a few words are a nice tonic for such things :)
